As a senior hardware UX designer, my role on this project was to help design a product that could both be used in and around home and on the go. This required the product to be usable not only as part of a multi-speaker wifi audio system, but also as an independent bluetooth speaker. The project also involved the integration of 3rd party voice assistants, such as Amazon Alexa.
The biggest design challenges on this product came from new UI elements (e.g. the circular, animated light bar that communicates product state to the user) and the integration of 3rd party voice assistants like Amazon Alexa. Our team worked to bring all of these elements together to create a seamless experience for the user.
